#91311 QUANTOFIX® Nitrite

$30.45/Tube of 100 strips

These test strips are for the rapid and reliable determination of Nitrite in solutions. The easy dip-and-read-procedure provides a reliable result within 1 minute.

Nitrite is a contamination indicator and therefore an important parameter that is tested regularly in a wide variety of settings. To determine the nitrite concentration, very often nitrite test strips are used.
Nitrite is an undesired byproduct in cooling lubricants. It allows the formation of carcinogenic compounds. Cooling lubricants are therefore regularly tested with nitrite test strips.
Additionally, nitrite is an important parameter for aquacultures and fish farming. Nitrite is formed in the decomposition of organic material. High levels can lead to the disruption of filtration units. Moreover, long-term exposure can be harmful to fish. In natural and drinking water Nitrite can lead to infant mortality and dead aquatic life. The EPA primary drinking water standard is 1 mg/L. Nitrite test strips are ideal to use for water control due to the quick and easy procedure.
Nitrite test strips are also important in quality controls of food, e.g. meats and spinach. Excessive amounts of nitrite can potentially be harmful to consumers, especially to infants.

QUANTOFIX® nitrite test strips are the ideal choice to check nitrite levels quickly and easily.

In acidic solution sulphanilic acid or sulphanilamide are diazotised with nitrite. The diazonium salt is then coupled with an aromatic amine, forming an intensely coloured azo dye.
Organic colloids, chlorine, humic acids and coloured heavy metal ions interfere.

#91338 QUANTOFIX® Nitrite/pH
for cooling lubricants

$39.50/tube of 100 strips

This test allows the quick and easy determination of Nitrite and pH in cooling lubricants. The easy dip-and-read-procedure provides a reliable result within 1 minute.
When metal parts are machined (drilling, cutting...) cooling lubricants or coolants are indispensable to guarantee the quality of the work piece as well as the lifetime of the machines. QUANTOFIX® Nitrite/pH is for the rapid and reliable control of two important parameters in cooling lubricants.
The Nitrite test is an indicator for bacterial growth in the cooling lubricant cycle. It allows early counteractive measures and therefore increases the lifetime of the cooling lubricant. Thus, significant cost savings are possible.
A weekly determination of the Nitrite concentration is also recommended to protect workers from carcinogenic nitrosamine. High levels of nitrite in the cooling lubricant foster the formation of this carcinogenic compound.
The pH-test is specially optimized for the demands of cooling lubricant analysis. Small meshed testing cycles allow an early detection of pH changes. Counteractive measures can be performed to keep the pH at the optimal level. This ensures optimal protection against corrosion inhibits bacterial growth and therefore reduces maintenance costs.
